Founder & Executive Chairman
Buz Brown has over thirty years of technology commercialization and venture creation experience, including large and small companies, academic and venture capital roles, with particular expertise in early-stage high growth companies. Buz was the founder and/or CEO of over a dozen currently operating companies. He received his B.A. from Colby College, his Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, and was a post-doctoral fellow and faculty member at Yale University.

Erik Meuleman has over 20 years of experience within the area of technology development for separation processes and has lead numerous international innovation projects with teams based in Europe, Brazil, Australia, Japan, China and USA. Erik has authored 15 peer-reviewed papers and holds three patents. He received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and is an adjunct professor at the Federation University of Australia.

Job Description:

Aspart of the Company’s Executive Management Team and reporting directly to the President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company, the Senior Vice President of Finance & Accounting performs a leadership role in the Company’s financial decision-making. Responsibilities include oversight for the planning, implementation, and managing of the finance, accounting, planning, tax, insurance, and treasury activities of the Company.

Essential Job Functions:

·      Leads the Finance & Accounting Organization

·      EvaluatesCompany’s financial performance, identifies financial strengths and weaknesses and proposes corrective actions

·      Provides strategic management for the accounting, tax compliance, financial planning& reporting, insurance, and treasury functions

·      Ensures that Company’s financial reports are accurate, in compliance with US GAAP and completed in a timely manner

·      Oversees the preparation of monthly management reports, and forecasts/budgets for internal and external uses

·      Drafts and implements policies and best practices (including internal controls) to support achievement of objectives and required standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the most dynamic innovators in the CO2 capture space and with technology at the forefront of sustainable innovation.

The ProjectManager will contribute to projects and help the Senior Project Management team manage engineers on various projects aimed at achieving commercial integration of carbon capture facilities. This position will require a hands-on individual to work directly with project team members and key stakeholders to help develop and maintain high-quality schedules, track risks, and assist with budget oversight. Additional roles and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with various teams to ensure project tasks are completed on time.
  • Facilitating project meetings and discussions while documenting key decisions and action items.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and issuing project documentation with internal project teams and external partners.
  • Reviewing technical documentation to adhere to ION documentation standards.
  • Communicating project status with the project management team to keep projects aligned with ION’s long-term goals.
  • Assisting in the development of project proposals, involving tasks such as creating and formatting presentations to pitch to clients and stakeholders.
  • Setting up and maintaining external SharePoint sites for communication with project partners.
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on various platforms such as Microsoft Project and NetSuite on the project as needs or financing for the project change.
  • Providing administrative support as needed, including scheduling travel for team members, resource allocation and time tracking, and updating weekly or monthly reports for various projects.

Position Summary

The Research Engineer provides input to and performs activities related to the R&D trajectory of development, such as design, implementation, and maintenance of new process methods and controls for ION's proprietary technology solutions related to CO2 capture. This position provides quality, safety, and innovation in support of the commercialization path of products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·       Assists with pilot commissioning, operations, troubleshooting and reporting.

·       Works with the ION R&D team to design, assemble, commission, and operate prototype devices and process units.

·       Thoroughly explores process options and continuously implements procedures that optimize quality, automation, and efficiency.

·       Documents process methodology, controls, and quality standards.

·       Identifies performance standards and proactively provides expertise in solving complex technical problems.

·       Analyzes, interprets, and documents data through graphs, charts, and reports.

·       Presents findings and new ideas/plans through oral and written reports, presentations, and/or project proposals.

·       Complies with standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

·       Takes direction from the ION CTO and the Director ofAdvanced Engineering, refines R&D project scope and objectives and ensuresR&D project execution is in alignment with goals.
